The book
Speaking a language and truly understanding it are two very different things. This book collects some of that wonderfully strange German weirdness — the idioms where humor, culture, and history live — for anyone learning German, working with German colleagues, or simply fascinated by language.
It is my first book. As a German who has lived and worked across countries and languages, I learned that you can know the vocabulary and the grammar, and then someone uses an idiom and none of the words make sense anymore.
